West Midlands transport company celebrates Pallet-Track award win
A West Midlands transport firm is celebrating a special delivery after winning a national logistics award from Pallet-Track.
West Bromwich-based Sheldon Clayton Logistics picked up the ‘Spirit of Pallet-Track’ award at our black-tie gala, held at Celtic Manor Resort in Newport.
In addition to its trophy, Sheldon Clayton was highly commended for the Pallet-Track Brand Ambassador Award and received a Platinum award, which requires a 99%+ delivery service for 10 out of 12 months of the year.
The wins follow a year of growth and investment for the family-run company, which saw it purchase forty-five new vehicles for its growing fleet.
Sheldon Clayton Logistics was founded in 1976 and became a Pallet-Track Shareholder Member in 2010 to diversify its transport services.
The company now employs a team of 200 across sites in the West Midlands and Scotland.
Going the extra mile
Scott Campbell, Managing Director at Sheldon Clayton, said: “The award was very unexpected and very well received by our whole team.
“It is a fitting tribute to the legacy of our founder, David Sheldon, who built the business from scratch and sadly passed away last month, aged 80.
“It was David’s vision and drive that has enabled our continued success; we never expect to win awards for just doing our job, so it means all the more.”
Stuart Godman, CEO of Pallet-Track, said: “This award marks the contribution of a Shareholder Member who really supports the network, engages positively and is always there to help fellow Shareholder Members.
“As a business, Sheldon Clayton embodies the values of Pallet-Track, going above and beyond, sometimes at the expense of their own business, for the best of the network. A truly wonderful business.
“Congratulations to Scott, Daniel, Katie and all the Sheldon Clayton team following another year of growth and success.”
