‘Sustainability Rocks’ at the United Pallet Network Annual Awards 2024
The iconic city of Nottingham once again set the stage for the United Pallet Network (UPN) Annual Awards 2024, a spectacular evening celebrating the year’s successes of one of the UKs leading Pallet Networks. UPN Members, Partners, and VIP guests gathered for this 23rd annual event, which served as both a celebration of excellence and an affirmation of UPN’s leadership in the sector.
This year’s theme, “Sustainability Rocks!” resonated throughout the evening, weaving together the night’s performances, accolades, and charitable initiatives. It was a bold reminder that UPN is not only driving the Pallet Network Sector forward but also championing a better future for the planet.
The evening opened with an awesome performance from the BBC Songs of Praise Gospel Choir of the Year – The Emmanu’-El Apostolic Gospel Choir whose stunning renditions of “Circle of Life” and “Oh Happy Day”, raised goose bumps.

True to its “Sustainability” theme, UPN also brought back huge event favourites from previous years. Ace crooner supreme, Steve Cole was the glue for the evening as MC. TV personality, speaker, and illusionist Ben Hanlin dazzled attendees once again with his spellbinding illusions. Rick Parfitt Junior and his RPJ Band rocked the stage, their electrifying performance a testament to their Status Quo legacy.
The evening wasn’t just about festivities; it was a platform to honour the achievements that make UPN a leader in its field. David Brown, UPN’s Managing Director, spoke with pride about the network’s growth and its commitment to sustainability.
“This year, we’ve exceeded 100 members for the first time, demonstrating that our unique approach to the pallet network sector is gaining recognition,” said David, “Our collaboration with Carbon Neutral Britain has made a lasting impact, and we’re committed to continuing our efforts to offset carbon emissions.”
UPN’s exceptional service standards were reflected in the expansion of its Gold and Platinum Clubs. These Elite Clubs recognize UPN members who deliver consistent excellence in service and compliance. This year Seventy-one UPN Members achieved Gold Status, with eight new additions to the club. Fifty-eight UPN members attained Platinum Status, including twelve first-timers. Achieving Platinum status signifies maintaining Gold-level performance for three consecutive years—a feat that reflects a deep UPN Member commitment to quality and reliability.
The highlight of the evening was the two-tiered 2024 Awards Presentation, spotlighting exceptional Regional and National Performers. These accolades underscored the talent, teamwork, and innovative spirit driving UPN forward. Recipients shared their pride in being part of an organization that not only recognizes hard work but also fosters a sense of community. For many, UPN is more than a professional network; it’s a family bound by shared goals and values.
Amid the glitz and glamour, UPN remembered those less fortunate. Fundraising efforts during the event supported three very worthy causes: St Giles Hospice, the Wildlife Trust, and Air Ambulance Northern Ireland. These contributions exemplify UPN’s commitment to making a difference both inside and outside the logistics sector.
As the curtains closed on the 23rd Annual Awards, the message was clear: UPN is not just setting standards—it’s redefining them. Its growing network, commitment to sustainability, and recognition of excellence position it as a leader in the pallet network sector. By championing sustainability and fostering community spirit, UPN exemplifies how businesses can thrive while making a positive impact.
For guests, the night was more than a celebration; it was an affirmation of their role in an organization that values innovation, camaraderie, and a shared vision for a brighter, greener future. As UPN continues to grow and evolve, one thing is certain – Sustainability Truly Rocks!
