Palletline appoints new CFO as part of bold growth strategy

Palletline, the UK’s leading palletised freight distribution network has strengthened its executive board with the appointment of Bali Bandha as Group Chief Financial Officer as part of its ambitious expansion plans.

It is a key strategic appointment following that of Forsyth Black as Palletline Chair just over 12 months ago – the first time a chair had been appointed from outside of the business.

Both have joined the business at a time when Palletline is entering an exciting new chapter with innovative developments, greater investment and people featuring prominently in Palletline’s future roadmap.

Bali’s career has seen him hold several senior positions at multinational engineering groups across the decades through which he has gained a reputation as an important and effective team player.

An accountant by profession, Bali has an impressive skill set having previously worked for both FTSE 100 and 250 companies as well as in the SME sector.

He is experienced in improving profitability and designing tools to enhance management information systems, developing teams, leading strategic projects, facilitating mergers and acquisitions, and managing new system implementation.

He said: “My role is to further develop Palletline’s commercial strategy in the UK with a view to taking the business to the next level and becoming a truly international company.

“An integral part of my new role is to ensure the business is well placed to handle big tenders quickly and effectively enabling us to take advantage of the opportunities available to the network.

“This will involve a combination of business intelligence, IT strategies, and other wider aspects of the business and I look forward to putting my international experience to good use. I also aim to learn from and further collaborate with our members and key suppliers which will provide both optimal efficiency whilst also helping us to expand our offering.

“Palletline is a robust business with an exciting future and I relish the opportunity to be a key part of its continuing success.”

Bali’s new appointment is part of an overall restructure at senior level within which Graham Leitch becomes Group Chief Executive Officer and Glenn Baker promoted to Chief Operational Officer. Paul Elson, Managing Director of Palletline Logistics completes the executive board.

It is a strong team and the new structure is part of Palletline’s strategic growth plan which will see the business seek new collaborative opportunities to strengthen its market-leading position.

Graham Leitch added: “As the UK’s only fully member owned network operating a multi hub model, Palletline has many unique features all of which provide a springboard for growth.

“Bali is a detail-oriented and highly knowledgeable colleague who can draw on both experience and innovation to find optimal plans and solutions.

“He has an excellent track record and we are confident he will play a pivotal role in our ambitious business strategy in helping to secure new business which will in turn further reinforce the long-term future and sustainability of the network.”
