Award celebrates major growth for Leicester logistics specialist

A Narborough-based logistics specialist has received a national award following a major expansion of its services.

Translink Express Logistics Ltd scooped the ‘Outstanding Growth Award’ at the annual Pallet-Track Shareholder Gala, held at The Belfry Hotel in Sutton Coldfield and presented by Chief Financial Officer, Tom Feeney and Sales Business Development Manager of Sapphire Curtains, David Stroh.

The award, sponsored by trailer supply company Sapphire Curtains, comes after the firm secured the largest contract in its history – a five-year contract worth £5 million with the Midlands’ leading supplier of cleaning and hygiene products, Ramon Hygiene.

The contract requires the shipment of 100 to 150 fully tracked pallets per day to major supermarkets, wholesalers, and distribution centres across the UK.

Pallet-Track is a national network enabling logistics companies to work together to transport palletised freight efficiently around the UK.

Greg Barnes, Managing Director at Translink Express Logistics, said: “I am so proud of our very positive team; Directors, managers, sales team, office staff across every department, who all contribute to our success. However, this success would not be possible without Pallet-Track, and all our fellow Shareholder Members that deliver our pallets on time every day.

As a founding Shareholder Member, the Pallet-Track network is more like a family than a network, we all have each other’s best interests at heart, and make our growth journey achievable. I extend a heartfelt thank you to the network for being amazing.”

Chris Hobbis, director at Translink Express Logistics, said: “We’ve had an incredible year which has seen the business go from strength-to-strength and secure our biggest contract win to date.

“Our extensive UK coverage, facilitated by our partnership with Pallet-Track, ensures we can deliver efficiently and effectively to any destination, and that capability has been key to our growth.

“To be recognised for our growth achievements in this way is fantastic for our business and shows our hard work over the past year. We can’t wait to see what the next 12 months hold for Translink Express.”

Stuart Godman, CEO at Pallet-Track, said: “Seeing the huge steps Translink has taken to grow the business is an inspiration to us all and we all feel very proud.

“Congratulations to Greg, Chris and all the team for their ongoing success, and for this much-deserved award win!”

Sapphire Curtains’ general manager Mark Wayman added: “Well done to Translink for their impressive growth over the past year. We’re excited to see their hard work pay off and be recognised with this award.”

Translink Express is a family-owned and run business, which was founded in 1987 as a small parcel delivery company with just one vehicle and driver.

Translink Express also operates a second storage and distribution facility in Whetstone covering 62,000 sq. ft.
