MOBILE PEOPLE POWERED LOGISTICS JOINS PALLETLINE – MARKING A STRATEGIC STEP IN ITS CONTINUED GROWTH
Mobile People Powered Logistics has officially joined the Palletline network, a strategic move designed to accelerate growth through a shared commitment to quality, flexibility, and industry-leading technology.
The transport and logistics specialist, which employs 90 people and operates 55 vehicles from Birmingham and Aylesbury, has built a strong reputation for reliability, quality, and innovation.
It recently joined the 100 per cent member-owned Palletline network as it embarks upon the next chapter of its success story.
Formed in 1979, Mobile People Powered Logistics began life as a general haulage business and has since evolved into a multi-site specialist in palletised distribution and rapid warehousing solutions for key clients within the Midlands and Home counties.
“Joining Palletline is a significant milestone for Mobile PPL,” said Matthew Marriott, Managing Director of Mobile People Powered Logistics. “We wanted to be part of a 100% shareholder-owned network that gives us greater flexibility and control, but more importantly, one that shares our reputation for quality. Our customers choose us because they trust that their goods will be handled with the highest level of care — and Palletline shares that same ethos.”
Technology also featured highly in Mobile PPL’s choice of partner. “Palletline’s revolutionary Palleteyes CCTV and barcode scanning system greatly enhances the tracking of consignments, which is a big plus point for our customers and us as it provides more visibility of our customers’ products passing through the network,” Matthew added.
“Equally, seeing that Palletline continues to invest in its technology was also appealing. The transition has been seamless — Palletline operates its own hub software, which integrates with our TMS, meaning that neither our customers nor we have had to make any significant changes that focused on training.”
The addition of Mobile PPL to the Palletline network is expected to have a significant impact on volumes, with Palletline forecasting growth from 4 million pallets a year to 4.3 million in 2026.
Under the leadership of Matthew Marriott, who joined the family business as a shareholder 11 years ago, Mobile has undergone transformational growth. “Over the past year, we’ve achieved a 24% increase in turnover — an exceptional result driven by new contracts, new product offerings, and the launch of our international division,” said Matthew. “We’re aiming to grow by more than inflation every year. Looking ahead to 2026, we’re planning to open a fulfilment operation in Birmingham, which will further strengthen both our business and increase our network operations.”
Sustainability also forms a core part of Mobile’s ethos. The company believes it is the only haulage company in the UK to hold carbon neutral status at stage 3 of which they are extremely proud. Working with Carbon Neutral Britain on UN-accredited projects worldwide, Mobile offsets its emissions through a range of environmental initiatives — a commitment that aligns closely with Palletline’s own environmental strategy.
“ESG is fundamental to our business,” added Matthew. “Reducing emissions is always a challenge in logistics, but we’re proud to be carbon neutral and to partner with a network like Palletline that shares our sustainability goals.”
With network distribution accounting for around 70% of its operations and the remaining 30% carried out on its own vehicles, Mobile’s integration into the Palletline network will further enhance service capability and national reach.
